Dear Parents/Guardians:
Standards of Learning State Assessments (SOL’s) will begin on Monday, May 15, 2017-June 13, 2017. During this period of time, the following reminders or procedures should be noted during the testing administration.
~ No volunteers will be permitted to work in classrooms grades K-5 or other designated areas during the course of the testing day.
~ If possible, schedule doctor’s appointments around your child’s testing schedule. If a student has to leave in the middle of a test, he or she will have to submit their test and the VDOE will score their assessment based on what the student has completed.
~ Students should be in attendance regularly and on time. We strongly recommend a good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast at school or home.
~ Students may practice at home using the Virginia Department of Education website: (http://www.doe.virginia.gov) →Standard of Learning (on left side) →Practice Items (on the right hand side at the bottom)→ Released Test & Item set. You may choose the appropriate grade level. These items may be completed using paper/pencil.
