Sam Fabian, Community Outreach Program Manager for the Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters (CHKD), presented to 1st grade students on Friday, Oct. 6, 2017. Ms. Fabian showed a short video clip to students, sharing how hospitals are “safe” places for students to go, in the event they are injured or become ill. She then showed students samples of x-rays and different pieces of hospital tools/equipment that they may see upon a visit to CHKD.
At the conclusion of Ms. Fabian’s presentation, students were introduced to Charlie the therapy dog. Charlie is a 4 yr. old Great Dane, weighing well over 100 lbs.
